A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

I was raised in the Inland Northwest in the rural community surrounding the Grand Coulee Dam — about 80 miles west of Spokane, Washington.

Because of my interest in a variety of topics, I could never quite figure out what I wanted to be when I “grew up.” I think that’s what eventually inspired me to pursue a career in journalism; it’s a career that fulfills both my ever-growing curiosity for the world and a desire to immediately share what I’ve learned with others.

I enjoy pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone and often do so through solo travel. My most recent solo trips were to Peru in September 2018, and Alaska a year later (like so many, I’m very excited for a time when it’s possible to safely travel again!).

I try to keep my vacation time exciting because on an average day I’m usually calculating which chores around the house need immediate attention, and which can wait until later.
